The third album from Final Fantasy to be launched
2009-11-29
Heartland is not a promised land. The third album from Final Fantasy will be run independently on the label For Great Justice Records January 12, 2010. The finished work is intended as the fruit of nine months working in four different countries.
Heartland is an orchestral album that wants both a disc, a piece of orchestral 45 minutes and a series of pieces for voice and violin sample loop. Owen Pallett explains: "This album deals with relationships with its beginning, its middle and end. The view that is preferred is not mine but that of the person sought after. Heartland has also been made according to the principles of electronic music synthesis accompanies similar symphonic composition is the opposite of a recording of Tomita. Moreover, these songs were conceived while keeping the scene in mind, taking into account the dense concerts and ringtones that Final Fantasy has to offer. I had a picture in mind while I was composing: adding notes until participation is completely blackened!
Pallett has been launched to Heartland in 2008 when he flew to Reykjavik along the Arcade Fire drummer Jeremy Gara. Both went to The Greenhouse, the studio Valgeir Siggurdsson (who has worked among others on the album Medulla by Bjork and The Letting Go Bonnie 'Prince' Billy). After a few recordings with engineer Th¨®rrison million to the console, Owen would then pick the flights of his orchestral opus in January 2009 in Prague with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. Final Fantasy has also collaborated with Matt Smith (Nifty), Reg Vermue (Gentleman Reg) and Nico Muhly. It should be noted that Rusty Santos, who produced the record Sung Tongs Animal Collective in addition to mixed Person Pitch Panda Bear, Owen also supported. The latter joined the artist in Toronto and New York during the summer of 2009 to finalize Heartland.
